Do Olly Metabolism Gummies Work?

Updated 26th Sept 2023

Yet Another Underdosed Olly Product Their Metabolism Gummies Aren't Great.

Olly Metabolism Gummy Rings are a dietary supplement that supports lean body mass and helps boost metabolism, promote steady energy & digestive health, and rev energy production. They also come in a "super delicious" snappy apple flavor that is enjoyable and made with zero synthetic flavors or colours.

Olly Vitamins & Supplements claim that each ingredient is proven to work and present in a clinically studied dose that supports lean body mass improvements. However, after conducting our own Olly Metabolism Gummy Rings review, we have found that this is clearly not the case.

Olly Metabolism Gummy Rings are packed with vitamin b12, chromium picolinate, and apple cider vinegar (with the mother), as well as a long list of "other ingredients", which includes stabilisers and natural flavors and colours, such as sweet potato and cherry juices, while being gluten free.

Vitamin b12 and chromium picolinate are proven to help you lose weight and improve carbohydrate and lipid metabolism, promote steady energy & digestive health, and rev energy production up. However, they are present in dosages that are so low that they simply won't be able to do any of these things.

You then have apple cider vinegar with the mother strands of protein containing gut friendly probiotics, the most abundant ingredient in the formula. Not only is this not proven to work, but they also exceed suggested dosage guidelines, which puts you at risk of the side effects apple cider vinegar can cause.

You then have a lengthy list of "Other Ingredients" that are just as likely to harm your health as they are to do it any good. This is before we get to the list of complaints from past customers regarding both the quality and efficacy of the supplement.

While the manufacturers may be known to create delightful vitamins that are available for a reasonable price, Olly Metabolism Gummy Rings just fail in too many ways. That is why we suggest you do not buy them and instead use a product proven to promote a mighty metabolism, such as Instant Knockout Cut. It actually contains ingredients in their effective dosages and you get about 8 times as much for your money as you do from Olly. Ok, it's not in a gummy form, but if you're looking for something that works in most cases gummies won't be the answer. It's a restriction of the format in many cases, they can be effective for childrens multivitamins, but a capsule can simply hold 3 times the content of one gummy.

Customers Olly Metabolism Gummy Rings Reviews

Olly Metabolism Gummy Rings have a fairly decent average rating value of 4.4 out of 5 stars with past users on Amazon.

However, when you look at the individual reviews that give them 4 or 5 stars, most focus solely on liking the "delicious" snappy apple flavor or feeling an energy boost, which could come from all of the sugars that they contain, rather than mentioning all of the real deal benefits that they advertise. And in fairness, they do taste pretty good so we can confirm that.

On the flip side, the 1 and 2 star reviews mention things like it not doing anything, actually causing weight gain or side effects like heartburn, or even simply stating that the product is of a poor quality and all of the gummy rings are packed in a container that leads to them clumping together in transit.

The most common side effect of Olly metabolism gummies we saw though was stomach complaints.

The average customer ratings therefore support our initial findings, which were that Olly Metabolism Gummy Rings may taste nice but they are simply, as one customer put it, nothing more than overpriced candy gummy rings.

Olly Metabolism Gummy Rings Formula

Vitamin B12 (As Cyanocobalamin) 10 MCG - Vitamin b12, the fuel at the core of the Olly Gummy Rings formula, is a water soluble vitamin that is vital for effective cellular metabolism to occur, as well as to improve carbohydrate and lipid metabolism and ensure protein metabolism takes place.

It also supports the central nervous system, controls blood flow and the production of red blood cells, and improves the production and maintenance of bone marrow, DNA, and nerve sheathes.

A dietary supplement that has added vitamin b-12 will also prevent you from developing a deficiency in it. As a vitamin b12 deficiency can cause your testosterone production to drop, your hormone levels to become unbalanced, and many other health issues, keeping your levels up will stop this from happening.

Unfortunately, these benefits will only be seen if you consume a minimum of 100 mcg of vitamin b12 per day (1). As Olly Metabolism Gummy Rings contain just 10 percent of this, with 10 mcg of vitamin b12 per serving, they simply are not strong enough and its presence is highly unlikely to be of any use at all.

Chromium (As Chromax Chromium Picolinate) 200 MCG - Chromium picolinate is a compound that consists of the amino acid derivative of the brittle metal element and mineral chromium and picolinic acid, a metabolite of tryptophan. When used together as chromium picolinate they make each other more effective than each is on its own.

It is also proven that the compound helps boost metabolism, promote steady energy production, and increase serotonin levels, regulates insulin sensitivity, encourages a slight appetite and blood sugar drop, prevents the creation of fat cells, and supports lean body mass tone and maintenance.

This all combines to enhance your overall brain functions and sleep quality, and enable you to lose weight quickly. The problem is, to see any of these benefits you need to consume at least 1,000 mcg of chromium picolinate per day (2).

As Olly Metabolism Gummy Rings contain just a fifth of this at 200 mcg per serving, this is another instance where they use an effective ingredient but include so little of it that is simply will not be capable of producing the desired effects.

Apple Cider Vinegar 300 MG - A type of vinegar made from apple juice, apple cider vinegar has the same acetic acid content as regular vinegar, while containing all of the beneficial phytochemicals found in apples.

Some studies suggest that it can slightly reduce the glycaemic index of food, which would enable it to prevent blood sugar spikes, boost lipid metabolism & promote steady blood lipid profiles, which would benefit both people losing weight and those who suffer from diabetes.

It also has mild appetite suppressing capabilities, which makes it much easier to stick to a healthy diet. The mix of these claimed beneficial effects has led to apple cider vinegar becoming a popular ingredient in natural fat loss supplements, as it would support lean body mass and weight loss from all angles.

When you get apple cider vinegar with the mother, strands of protein containing gut friendly probiotics and digestive enzymes that are normally removed during the pasteurisation process, it is said to support digestive health and rev energy production and your metabolic rate up even further (3).

However, there are a number of issues with using apple cider vinegar with the mother in a dietary supplement such as this.

Firstly, not only is more conclusive proof needed to confirm that it can actually produce any of its claimed benefits regarding its effect on your body composition, but even the studies that support the use of apple cider vinegar with the mother admit that its effects in this regard are mild.

Perhaps even more worryingly though, is the fact that it has been linked to a number of severe side effects, such as tooth and organ damage, particularly in regards to the gastrointestinal tract and your digestive health.

Unlike most of the other ingredients though, apple cider vinegar with the mother is one instance where they do not use a small dose. With 30 mg being the recommended daily safe maximum dose of apple cider vinegar, the 300 mg per dose is 10 times too high and highly likely to put you at risk of side effects.

Other Ingredients In Olly Metabolism Gummies

Glucose Syrup - Glucose syrup is a concentrated solution made up of different natural sugars. It is used solely to boost the taste of each Olly Metabolism gummy ring and will not add any health benefits. However, as it is adding sugar to the supplement, it is not ideal for people watching their weight or blood glucose level.

Beet Sugar - Like with glucose syrup, beet sugar is a naturally occurring sugar that will make the Olly Metabolism Gummy Rings taste nice but will not improve their effects and could cause an issue for people suffering from obesity or diabetes.

Gelatin - Gelatin is used exclusively to create the bulk of the Olly Metabolism Gummy Rings and will provide no health benefits at all. However, it can sometimes cause side effects in some people, such as allergic reactions, belching, bloating, and heartburn, and it is also not suitable for vegetarians or vegans (4).

Natural Flavor - The "natural flavor" included in Olly Metabolism Gummy Rings is included exclusively to give them the crisp, apple flavor that they are known for. Unfortunately, with no further information on what natural flavor is used, it is impossible to determine what other effects, positive or negative, that it may have.

Citric Acid - Citric acid is essential for cellular energy production and functions, and there is some evidence to suggest that it can bind to various minerals, especially calcium, to make them more water soluble, increase their absorption, and prevent you from developing mineral deficiencies.

However, as the clinically studied dose required to do this is usually obtained from your diet and only a miniscule amount will be present here, its presence in Olly Metabolism Gummy Rings will provide very little benefits, if they are of any use at all (5).

Pectin - Pectin is a type of soluble fibre found in apples that is said to bind to the other foods and nutrients you eat in your diet when they hit the intestines. It is thought to improve carbohydrate and lipid metabolism, support your digestive health, and treat issues like diabetes, diarrhoea, heartburn, and high cholesterol.

The issue is, with no info on how much is present in Olly Metabolism Gummy Rings, it is impossible to determine if it will do any of these things. That said, as it is included in the Other Ingredients section, it is all but guaranteed that only a miniscule amount that is too small to be of any use will be present (6).

Lactic Acid - Lactic acid is a type of alpha hydroxy acid that is naturally found in both the human body and many foods.

It is sometimes added to dietary supplements like Olly Metabolism Gummy Rings as it helps boost metabolism and absorption of nutrients and support your gut health, at the same time as helping to preserve the gummy rings themselves (7).

Colouring - The colouring of Olly Metabolism Gummy Rings comes from carrot, blackcurrant, sweet potato, apple, radish, and cherry juices.

This selection is all natural and contains zero synthetic colors, which makes it absolutely fine to use, although it will not add any beneficial effects to Olly Metabolism Gummy Rings.

Olly Metabolism Gummy Rings Review Conclusion

Olly Metabolism Gummy Rings certainly look like an enjoyable way to boost fat loss and your energy levels, but the results simply do not support their claims. About the only good thing we can say is they're not too expensive.

From low doses of proven ingredients and high doses of unproven, potentially dangerous ones, and a big list of "Other Ingredients" and customer complaints, this supplement simply fails on every level. That is why we suggest you do not buy Olly Metabolism Gummy Rings and instead use a proven alternative.

Instant Knockout Cut is a perfect supplement to try instead. Packed with an expertly blended range of clinically proven, high quality ingredients, all of which are present in a dose that supports lean body mass and boosts metabolism, fat burning, and energy levels, it is simply far superior in every way.
