Primal Total Male Reviews

Does Primal Total Male Work?

Decent Ingredients, But Primal Total Male Underdoses Almost All of Them.

Primal Total Male is a testosterone booster dietary supplement made by Primal Harvest. It seems that unlike the majority of testosterone supplements, it claims to focus on your cognitive function, stress and energy levels, mood, and focus at the same time as your testosterone levels.

Unfortunately, our Primal Total Male review discovered that these claims are clearly not true.

And whilst the Primal Total Male formula contains some decent natural ingredients for this type of supplement vitamin d, vitamin b3, zinc, tongkat ali, fenugreek seed extract, velvet bean seed extract, tribulus terrestris fruit extract, Korean ginseng root extract, boron citrate, maca rot extract, oat straw extract, shilajith extract, horny goat weed extract, coleus forskohlii extract, and bioperine black pepper extract.

Primal Total Male falls into a very common issue with this type of supplement.

It simply underdoses almost everything. Indeed many of these ingredients are proven to be of use in a testosterone booster dietary supplement. However, they are all present in doses that are far too low to let them do their job.

They are then also surrounded by ingredients that either have not be proven to benefit your testosterone levels or not been proven to do anything at all. This is all before we even get to the fairly negative reception from past customers or high price tag for what it is able to deliver.

Best Testosterone Boosters

Primal Total Male Customer Reviews

Customer reviews of Primal Total Male are fairly average, as the testosterone booster supplement holds an average rating of 3.9 out of 5 stars among past users on Amazon.

However, when you look at the positive reviews themselves, most simply state that it helped them focus or boosted their energy levels, rather than actually improving their testosterone production and free testosterone levels like it is supposed to.

Conversely, the negative Primal Total Male reviews are filled with people saying that it did nothing despite being quite expensive, a point which even a number of the positive reviews made.

This supports our initial conclusion, which is that Primal Total Male is not a great testosterone booster and any benefits you do see will likely be in areas other than your testosterone levels.

Primal Total Male Ingredients

Vitamin D3 (As Cholecalciferol) - 44 MCG

Vitamin d does not directly boost testosterone levels. However, a vitamin d deficiency will cause your testosterone production to fall (1). Vitamin d supplementation will therefore restore healthy testosterone production and lead to better testosterone levels as a whole.

The issue is, vitamin d is only useful for increasing testosterone production if you consume at least 4,000 mcg per day. As Primal Total Male contains just a fraction of this at 44 mcg per serving, it is highly unlikely to do anything at all.

Vitamin B3 (As Inositol HexaNiacinate) - 132 MG

Vitamin b3 has been shown to be capable of promoting the release of growth hormone, which can aid muscle growth, fat metabolism, and exercise performance, which has led to it being put in some testosterone boosters, as these effects are intrinsically linked with higher testosterone concentrations.

However, not only will vitamin b3 not directly boost testosterone levels, but it is only deemed to be safe when taken in doses of up to 16 mg per day. This means while the 132 mg in each serving of Primal Total Male will not directly affect your blood serum testosterone levels, it could cause side effects (2).

Zinc (As Zinc Bisglycinate) - 9.6 MG

Zinc is a mineral that can stimulate the pituitary gland, resulting in an boost in luteinizing hormone production. This will increase testosterone production, testosterone levels, DNA synthesis, metabolism, immunity, recovery, and vision, and reduce inflammation and the signs of aging all at the same time (3).

Unfortunately, for its effect on luteinizing hormone production to take place, you need to take a minimum of 45 mg of zinc each day. As Primal Total Male contains roughly a fifth of this amount, it is again far too weak to be of any use.

Tongkat Ali (Eurycoma Longifola) Root Extract - 352 MG

Tongkat ali extract is a herbal remedy that has long been used in various traditional medicines in Asia, due to claims that it can increase testosterone production, testosterone levels, and fertility, reduce estrogen levels, and improve your sex drive and libido.

The problem is, while there is a tiny amount of proof to support its effect on your fertility and libido, there is nothing to suggest it can enhance testosterone production, and it could even cause side effects. This means its presence in Primal Total Male is more likely to do you harm than good (4).

Fenugreek Seed Extract - 352 MG

Fenugreek seed extract is proven to enhance testosterone levels, your sex drive, the growth and preservation of lean muscle mass, and male reproductive functions, and it can even reduce your blood sugar and cholesterol levels and help combat conditions like diabetes as well.

The issue is, for it to be able to raise testosterone levels to optimal levels, 600 mg of fenugreek seed extract must be consumed daily. With Primal Total Male containing around half of this as 352 mg per serving, it yet again is not strong enough to be of any use (5).

Velvet Bean Seed Extract - 220 MG

The seed extract from the velvet bean plant, also called mucuna pruriens, is rich in a compound called l-dopa. Studies show it can increase dopamine production, as well as that of another neurotransmitter, serotonin. This enables it to boost brain function, repair damaged brain cells and prevent mental decline.

It may even offer additional health benefits, like better gut and immune system health, sperm mobility and concentration, testosterone production, and blood sugar levels, and be able to treat diabetes, and be used as an anti-venom.

Unfortunately, at least 5 grams is required for it to produce these effects, meaning its presence in Primal Total Male is all but guaranteed to do nothing at all (6).

Tribulus Terrestris Fruit Extract - 176 MG

Tribulus terrestris extract is made from the fruit of the tribulus terrestris plant. It has long been used in ayurvedic medicine, largely due to the belief it can help boost libido and sex drive in men, prevent erectile dysfunction, and keep their heart healthy.

Unfortunately, while tribulus terrestris extract is fairly widely used in cheaper testosterone boosters, there is little to no conclusive proof that it actually effects your testosterone levels at all. This means its inclusion in Primal Total Male is highly unlikely to do anything (7).

Korean Ginseng Root Extract - 132 MG

Korean red ginseng extract has long been used for its health benefits in traditional Chinese medicine, as it can improve free testosterone levels, mood, immunity, and cognitive functions, and combat erectile dysfunction and conditions like diabetes, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue syndrome.

The issue is, Korean ginseng extract needs to be taken in doses of between 200 and 400 mg per day to produce these effects (8). This means the 132 mg in each serving of Primal Total Male is highly unlikely to do anything at all.

Boron Citrate - 88 MG

Boron is a metal element and trace mineral that's long been linked to various benefits in humans, particularly men. It can boost testosterone, reduce inflammation and cholesterol levels, and improve your blood flow, bone density, and cognitive abilities.

However, to increase free testosterone levels the maximum amount, 10 mg per day is the upper dosage of boron needed. This means the 88 mg in a serving of Primal Total Male not only takes up too much space but is also way too strong and could cause side effects (9).

Maca Root Extract - 88 MG

Extracts from maca plants have long been used in both traditional medicine and testosterone boosters, as they can improve libido, sexual functions, sexual desire, and mood, regulate estrogen production and estrogen levels, and reduce anxiety, depression, and the symptoms of the menopause.

The problem is, studies show that at least 1,500 mg of maca extract must be consumed each day in order for it to produce any results (10). This means the tiny 88 mg in each serving of Primal Total Male is essentially pointless.

Oat Straw Extract - 88 MG

Oat straw extract is made from the avena sativa plant that produces the common oat and contains a range of minerals said to benefit your physical and mental health. It is said to reduce anxiety, stress and inflammation, treat insomnia, and boost brain health, blood flow, mood, physical performance and virility.

Unfortunately, not only do none of the claims relate to your natural testosterone synthesis, but none of them have been proven to be true anyway, even in much larger doses than are used here. This means it is virtually guaranteed that the oat straw extract in Primal Total Male will not benefit you in any way (11).

Shilajith Extract 5% Fulvic Acid - 88 MG

Shilajith extract is a mineral rich resin found in rocks in the Himalayan mountains that contains a compound called fulvic acid. It has long been used in ayurvedic medicine due to the belief that it slows aging and boosts your health, strength, and testosterone levels.

Unfortunately, not only is there little evidence to support these claims, but even what is available suggests that at least 250mg of fulvic acid must be consumed per day to be of any use. This means the 88 mg present in Primal Total Male is all but guaranteed to be of no use (12).

Horny Goat Weed Leaf Extract - 88 MG

Horny goat weed and has long been used in traditional Chinese medicine, as it contains a flavonoid called icariin, which is said to offer countless health benefits.

This includes boosting sexual desire, energy, testosterone levels, relaxation, blood flow, and brain, heart and immune health and functions, and treating erectile dysfunction, low libido, joint pain, inflammation, viral infections, heart disease, and high cholesterol, and regulating estrogen levels (13).

Unfortunately, its joint health benefits are the only ones to have ever been proven, while it is linked to a list of side effects, such as abdominal discomfort, cardiovascular health issues, skin rashes, nausea, and negative interactions with other medications, such as a blood pressure medication.

This means its presence in Primal Total Male is much more likely to do you harm than it is to do you any good.

Coleus Forskohlii Root - 88 MG

Coleus forskohlii root extract, better known as forskolin, is widely used in dietary supplements that aim to promote weight loss. It is said to boost testosterone production and male testosterone levels, help you lose weight, and combat asthma, glaucoma, and high blood pressure and blood sugar levels (14).

There are even claims that it can reduce the risk of you developing osteoarthritis. However, as none of these claims have ever been proven, there is a very good chance that its presence in Primal Total Male will be of no use at all.

BioPerine Black Pepper Fruit Extract - 8.8 MG

Bioperine will not boost your testosterone levels in any way. However, it is put in testosterone boosting supplements as it improves the bioavailability, absorption, and efficacy of the other ingredients present, allowing them to improve your testosterone production and testosterone levels even further.

Unfortunately, as with every other useful ingredient in Primal Total Male, the 8.8 mg per serving is lower than the 10 mg that are required for it to be effective. This means its presence in the testosterone booster supplement will not be able to produce optimal effects (15).

Primal Total Male Pros & Cons

  • Contains a number of natural ingredients proven to boost your natural testosterone levels

  • All of the proven natural ingredients are either present in dosages that are too low or have no place in a natural testosterone booster
  • Many of the ingredients are not proven to be of any use in a natural testosterone booster
  • There is the possibility of it causing side effects

Primal Total Male Review Conclusion

Primal Total Male sells itself as a great way to improve your testosterone levels, lean muscle mass, sexual health, sperm quality, and sexual performance. Unfortunately, a closer review of this testosterone booster reveals that this is clearly not the case.

From low dosages and unproven ingredients to complaints by past users, it simply fails on every level. That is why we highly recommend you do not purchase the Primal Total Male supplement. If you're looking for a good all round test booster, not one just focused on muslce then we tend to recommend the similarly named Prime Male.

The main difference is that it actually uses the optimal doses of it's natural ingredients meaning you actually get the benefits that Primal Harvest claim their product does.
