Are Your Super Super Greens any good? 

Your Super Super Green is quality organic greens powder with just six ingredients. Not as complex or as comprehensive as some better greens powders, but a decent option for getting some simple green goodness.

The ingredients list of most greens powders are overflowing—not so with Your Super Super Green greens powder. With just six, organically-certified ingredients, this is possibly the most simple greens powder ever made.

Your Super is a certified B-Corp, which means the company is committed to doing good for more stakeholders than just investors. For You Super, that means taking into account the environment by using only organic ingredients. Many greens powders use only one or two organic ingredients, so we’re impressed that Super Green is 100% organic—although admittedly it is easier when you only have six ingredients!

This simple greens powder is a decent source of some of the most powerful greens available, including wheatgrass, moringa, spirulina, and chlorella. What it lacks is the nutritional diversity that comes from including a large number of ingredients. What’s more, unlike many greens powders, Super Green does not have a probiotics blend to aid digestion, nor does it have an adaptogen blend to help your body deal with stress. Simplicity comes at a price.

Another issue with Super Green is that Your Super hasn’t provided a proper breakdown of the amounts of each ingredient included in their mix. Here at Center TRT, We always prefer to know exactly what’s in a supplement formula so that we can judge its effect accurately. Some benefits from greens powder are only available if you consume the right amount—without the amounts on the ingredients fact sheet, we don’t know if Super Green provides enough of each ingredient.

Despite the problems, if you’re looking for a simple, high-quality greens powder to give you a quick boost of greens, then Super Green could be right for you. Verified customer reviews of Your Super Super Green rate the product lower than the top greens powder supplements tend to get ranked but reviews are reasonably good overall.   

Some negative reviews of Super Green commented on the bad taste, although this is a pretty common complaint for greens powder, so no surprises there.   

Other negative reviews claimed Super Green is overpriced, which is a fair comment even though it’s a fairly cheap product. This is because it only contains six ingredients so it really shouldn’t be any more expensive than it is. What’s more, most greens powders have a serving size of around 12g, whereas Super Green has a serving size of just 5g, meaning you need to take twice as much to compare with other greens powders. Essentially, this means you can mentally double the price of Super Green to compare it with other powders

What Does ​Your Super Super Green Smoothie Mix Taste Like?

It's quite grassy, and definitely tastes like a greens powder. It's not one of the most well covered in terms of flavor so if you really don't like the taste of greens we wouldn't recommend it as a go to.

Your Super Super Green Mix Ingredients

While the ingredients are quality greens, we are disappointed that You Super hasn’t provided a proper breakdown of the amounts. Each serving of Your Super Super Green is 5g. This gives us some indication of what the breakdown between each ingredient might be, but it’s all guesswork. As far as we know, it could be 4g of wheatgrass and 200mg each of everything else.

We would prefer a transparent formula that tells us exactly what’s in the mix. Exactly how much wheatgrass, how much moringa, etc. It matters because some of the benefits associated with these ingredients are only available when you take the right amount.

Wheatgrass - Wheatgrass shots are common in healthy juice bars and became a total fad in Los Angeles in the early 2000s. And not without good reason: wheatgrass is extremely healthy. It is very high in nutrients and antioxidants. In particular, it has a lot of vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, iron, calcium, and magnesium. The antioxidants will reduce the number of free radicals in the body and thus protect cells from their negative influence. Wheatgrass has also been linked to lowering cholesterol, improving blood sugar regulation, and reducing inflammation.

Barley Grass - Like wheatgrass, barley grass is considered a superfood. It contains heaps of fibre, vitamins A, C, and K, and antioxidant flavonoids. Studies have linked barley grass to improved blood sugar regulation, lower cholesterol (when taken at high doses), and even weight loss.

Moringa - Like wheat and barley grass, moringa is equally revered for its impressive properties and health benefits. It contains a healthy dose of vitamin B6, along with iron, magnesium, vitamin A, and vitamin C. Moringa is also rich in antioxidants. It is used to lower blood pressure and blood sugar levels, it reduces inflammation, and may also lower cholesterol.

Baobab - Baobab is rich in various vitamins and minerals including potassium, vitamin C, magnesium, iron, thiamine, niacin, and zinc. It is also full of fibre. A study conducted in 2017 suggests baobab can help you feel more full, which is great if you’re attempting to lose weight through calorie cutting [1]. In addition, it has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

Spirulina - Spirulina is a type of algae and is one of the best ingredients for a greens powder. Since it’s low down on the ingredients list, we can only assume that there is not that much spirulina in Super Green as ingredients are legally required to be listed in order of greatest to smallest amount. Spirulina is high in B vitamins, it is anti-inflammatory and can lower cholesterol.

Chlorella powder - Chlorella is another algae and like spirulina it’s chockfull of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients. Chlorella contains vitamin B12, vitamin C, copper, magnesium, zinc, and even omega-3 fatty acids. It can also be a great source of fibre when consumed in large enough quantities, though we doubt the amount in Super Green constitutes a source of fibre as it’s the last ingredient on the list. Chlorella has the ability to bind to heavy metals and remove them from your system, effectively detoxifying the body. It is also immune boosting and cholesterol lowering.  

Your Super Super Green Review: Conclusion 

You Super Super Green greens powder is a simple and healthy option but not the most well-rounded greens powder available. It does include healthy ingredients but since it has only six ingredients in total the benefits are limited.   

What’s more, the serving sizes are about half the normal amount for a greens powder so it’s more expensive than it looks at first glance if you want to take the usual amount of around 10-12g.   

We do like that all the ingredients are organic, which is not common in a greens powder, and the company has a good ethical stance. However, if you’re looking for a comprehensive greens powder that will do more than just provide a relatively small dose of greens, we suggest looking at other options
