We answer some of the most commonly asked questions in Enso Superfoods Reviews.
Enso Super Greens Powder Blend 8g
Spirulina, Chlorella, Wheatgrass, Barley Grass, Monk Fruit, Peppermint, Spinach, Moringa Leaf, Alfalfa Leaf, Broccoli, Cactus, Kale, Oat Grass, Dandelion powder, Nettle Leaf, Burdock Root, Horsetail, Parsley Leaf Powder, Kelp Powder, Dulce Powder, Ginger Root.
The main selling point of Enso's otherwise mediocre supergreens powder is the fact that it focuses on organic ingredients and avoids artificial flavors and artificial sweeteners, which can be important if you're particularly sensitive to these things. And the superfood powder is certainly going to have some health benefits, just not nearly as much as other greens powders on the market today.
As we've already mentioned in the intro spirulina and chlorella have a host of immune system boosting and anti inflammatory effects, and as long as these are dosed over 2000mg then we're all good here. We do expect this is the case although that does mean by the time we get down to peppermint leaf we're not longer getting any of the benefits from the leafy greens, with the exception of dandelion powder which dose have some impact in even a few 100mg. Although dandelion powder's main effect is that it's a diuretic and it's good for your liver.
As for Wheat and Barley Grass there's some amino acids in there, and again it's got some minor benefits to the immune system, but they're not the best ingredients for greens powders and are generally one of the lower budget filler options. They're still good, but there's better options for Enso Super Greens Powder.
The only other thing we'd expect to be in the effective range is the nopal cactus powder, which needs to be at 500mg as a minimum, but has been shown to help regulate blood sugar levels, protect nerve cells and even have some benefits to prostate health.
Enzyme Complex 78mg
Papin, Bromelain, Pepsin
The problem with the enzyme complex is that it's not big enough, papin and bromelain do have a host of health benefits, particularly bromelain, which is a potent anti inflamatory which is known to reduce joint pain and stiffness, but it's dosage is 100mg. And with the whole blend being 78mg it's just not enough. Papin the larger ingredient in the blend has pretty much no scientific backing at all, and whilst pepsin could be interesting it's going to be nowhere near a useful dosage.
Probiotic Blend
Standard lacto probiotics and digestive enzymes, nothing wrong here, but nothing great either, this is all pretty par for the course as greens powders go and offers the gut health benefits you'd expect. Although a dedicated probiotic would be better.
