Teami Greens Reviews

Is Teami Greens A Scam?

Teami Greens Tastes Good, But There Are Better Greens Powders.

Teami Greens Superfood Powder is a supplement powder made by Teami Blends. It is sold as a sugar free, soy free, nut free, gluten free, dairy free, vegan friendly, natural formula, that is rich in probiotics, fiber, and enzymes and can promote natural energy levels and support regular digestion and your overall well being.

Unfortunately, our Teami Greens review shows that many of Teami Blends' claims simply are not true. This becomes apparent as soon as you look at the ingredients, which are split into proprietary blends that hide the dosages, which they refer to as "all natural blends".

The Teami Greens Superfood Blend uses wheatgrass, chlorophyll, spirulina, chlorella, spinach leaf, broccoli, kale, kelp, rocket leaf, parsley, and celery powders and grape seed and dandelion extracts. The Superfood Support Complex then boasts matcha and acai berry powders, as well as garcinia cambogia extract.

The majority of these ingredients have little to no evidence to prove they actually benefit your health. Meanwhile, the ingredients that have been proven to work are virtually all present in doses far too low to be of use.

It does taste pretty good as a result of the matcha though so there is a positive here. But, seeing as this is largely a matcha supplement rather than a typical greens powder it doesn't have nearly the benefits you'd want. And of course matcha is a lot cheaper than teami.

This is all before we even get to the complaints of side effects that are being put forward by past users.

While it is, admittedly, isn't too expesnive for a greens supplement, the fact that it's 30% matcha does account for the cheaper price point.

As a result we don't recommend Teami Greens Superfood Powder.

What Does Teami Greens Taste Like?

The taste of Teami is definitely one of the better greens powders on the market. Largely due to the matcha content, as a result it tastes very much like green tea as you'd probably expect.

In terms of taste everyone in the office agreed it was good on the taste front, but the question is whether or not it should be compared to matcha teas or to greens powders.

Best Super Greens

Teami Greens Superfood Ingredients

Green Superfood Complex - 6.8 Grams

Wheatgrass Powder

Wheatgrass powder is made from the new sprouts on the top of the wheat plant and said to be low in calories and rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. It is claimed to be capable of reducing cholesterol, the risk of heart disease, oxidative stress and damage, inflammation, and the symptoms of arthritis.

Unfortunately, none of these claims have been conclusively proven, which means it may be of absolutely no use in Teami Blends Greens Superfood Powder, which is especially worrying as it is the most abundant ingredient in the formula (1).

Chlorophyll Powder

Chlorophyll extract contains sodium copper chlorophyllin, which is believed to have antioxidant and anti inflammatory properties. There are claims that it can detoxify the cells, reduce your blood sugar and insulin response levels, blood pressure, and heart rate, and help to both treat and prevent diabetes.

Unfortunately, not only is more research needed to conclusively prove these claims, but even the evidence that is available suggests it must be taken in doses considerably higher than what could be present here in order to produce them (2).

This makes the use of chlorophyll as the second most abundant ingredient in Teami Greens Superfood Powder particularly concerning.

Spirulina Powder

Spirulina is a type of blue green algae rich in antioxidants, fatty acids, minerals, protein, and vitamins.

It is believed to boost your immune system, metabolism, and heart health, fright free radicals, reduce oxidative damage and stress, and inflammation, lower your blood pressure and blood sugar levels, suppress your appetite, and aid weight loss. (3).

Unfortunately, these health benefits will only be produced if you consume at least 8 grams a day. With this being larger than the weight of the blend it is in, Teami Greens Superfood Powder can't possibly contain enough to be of use.

Chlorella Powder

Chlorella is a type of chlorophyte green algae rich in antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins that has the ability to boost your energy levels without causing blood sugar spikes. It can also lower your cholesterol and blood sugar levels, treat diseases and illnesses, detoxify the body, and enhance your overall health (4).

With no optimal dose of chlorella currently established, this may actually be one instance where Teami Blends Greens Superfood Powder contains a useful dosage. Unfortunately, the use of a proprietary blend makes it impossible for us to know for sure.

Spinach Leaf Powder

Spinach leaf powder is produced from one of the most widely eaten leafy greens on Earth, which is full of fibre, protein, minerals, and vitamins. It can improve your vision, eye, heart, and immune health, and blood pressure, and reduce oxidative stress, anxiety, stress, and the risk of heart disease and other illnesses (5).

In order for spinach to provide these health benefits though, you must consume at least 1,000 mg per day.

Admittedly, it is possible that the Teami Greens Superfood Powder proprietary blend contains this amount, but spinach's place in the ingredients list, the number of ingredients listed after it, and the weight of the blend make it highly unlikely.

Broccoli Powder

Broccoli powder is made from the widely eaten brassica vegetable that is well known for being able to benefit the human body in a number of ways, most notable of which is its ability to lower your cholesterol.

The problem is, the benefits of broccoli have only ever been proven in the fresh vegetable, rather than its powdered form. This means it is highly unlikely that any of its health benefits will be replicated by its presence in Teami Greens Superfood Powder (6).

Kale Powder

Kale powder comes from a widely eaten leafy cabbage similar to spinach that can be either green or purple in colour and is rich in a variety of phytochemicals, vitamins, and minerals.

It is known to be able to reduce inflammation, your cholesterol levels, and the risk of heart disease, boost the health of your bones, eyes, and immune system, and protect you from oxidative damage and certain illnesses (7).

Unfortunately, these benefits will only be produced if you consume at least 5 grams of kale per day. As this is far more than Teami Greens Superfood Powder can possibly contain, its inclusion is pointless and will do nothing for you.

Kelp Powder

Kelp powder is produced from a variety of seaweed that is being clinically studied due to claims that it can boost the health and functions of the immune system and prevent the absorption of some carbohydrates.

However, as this research is still ongoing, there is no conclusive evidence that kelp will be of any use in the Teami Blends Greens Superfood Powder at all (8).

Rocket Leaf Powder

Rocket is a leafy green that contains a range of nutrients and these veggies promote natural energy, boost your metabolism, exercise performance, and bone, eye and immune health, combat diabetes and chronic health issues, and help your body quickly absorb other nutrients when eaten as part of a balanced diet (9).

Unfortunately, rocket leaf powder has not been proven to replicate the benefits of the fresh plant, so it is likely of no use in Teami Greens Superfood Powder.

Parsley Powder

Parsley contains a variety of nutrients and antioxidants that allow it to enhance your bone, eye, heart, and immune health and functions, combat bacteria, chronic diseases, and viruses, and provide numerous other benefits for the human body (10).

The issue is, these benefits have only ever been seen in fresh parsley, so parsley powder is highly unlikely to offer any benefits as part of the Teami Blends Greens Superfood Powder.

Celery Powder

Celery is rich in antioxidants, anti-inflammatories, and nitrates which can benefit the human body in many ways when it is consumed as part of a healthy diet.

Unfortunately, as none of these benefits have been shown to be transferred to celery powder, its inclusion in the Teami Greens Superfood Powder is likely worthless (11).

Grape Seed Extract

Grape seed extract contains catechins and a substance called resveratrol that have anti inflammatory properties.

It can improve your circulation, blood pressure, and cholesterol level, help you lose weight, alter insulin and glucose sensitivity, inhibit oestrogen production, boost nerve, joint, heart, and gut health, and prevent or treat conditions like arthritis, diabetes, and Alzheimer's disease (12).

However, with 800 mg being the optimal daily intake and Teami Greens Superfood Powder not possibly being able to contain this amount, its inclusion will do you no good.

Dandelion Extract

Dandelion extract is rich in potassium and is hypothesised to benefit the human body in a variety of ways, such as preventing bloating and water retention, aiding digestion, protecting the pancreas, and improving liver and gut health and functions (13).

Unfortunately, with no conclusive evidence to support these claims and even what is available stating that massive doses greater than the weight of one scoop of Teami Greens Superfood Powder are required for it to be of use, this herbal extract will do you no good here.

Superfood Support Blend - 3.2 Grams

Ceremonial Grade Matcha Powder

Ceremonial grade matcha powder is a fine powder produced from a specific type of green tea leaves that is rich in antioxidants, caffeine, catechins, chlorophyll, phenolic acids, quercetin, rutin, theanine, and vitamin c.

It can aid fat and weight loss and calorie burning, boost your energy levels, brain functions, and heart health, reduce inflammation, detoxify the liver, and prevent certain illnesses and diseases, provided you consume at least 2 grams per day (14).

This is another rare instance where it is possible Teami Greens Superfood Powder contains a useful dose of an effective ingredient, but the proprietary blend it is in makes it impossible to know for sure.

Acai Berry Powder

Acai berries are rich in anthocyanins that people say provide antioxidant support and boost gut and heart health.

The problem is, studies have not yet proven any of these claims, so its presence in Teami Greens Superfood Powder is as likely to do nothing as it is to do you any good (15).

Garcinia Cambogia Extract

Garcinia cambogia is a fruit from Asia thought to contain hydroxycitric acid. This substance is said to boost weight loss, exercise performance, muscle growth, and stamina, block fat storage, suppress your appetite, aid serotonin production, support regular digestion, regulate blood sugar levels, and treat diabetes (16).

Unfortunately, not only have all of its benefits not been proven, but evidence also suggests you must consume 500 mg three times daily to see them. This means the dose you will get from adding one scoop of Teami Greens Superfood Powder to a smoothie bowl or shake each day just won't do you any good.

Teami Greens Review Conclusion

Teami Blends say they make Teami Greens work by using green nutrients and superfoods that are blended perfectly together and make a fine addition to almond milk. Unfortunately, if you are after a convenient way to get your daily intake of green nutrients and enjoy superfood benefits, Teami greens is not the way to go.

With the vast majority of its natural ingredients not having been proven to work by a health care provider prior to being included, and those that have not being present in sufficient dosages, it simply is not going to work. That is why we suggest you do not buy Teami Greens and instead use a proven greens powder.

Generally we recommend Supergreen Tonik for most people. It's a perfect example of a quality controlled superfood greens powder that actually works. Able to provide a whole portion of your daily veggie intake in just one easy serving, it can help you enjoy maximum overall health benefits, no matter if you prefer to consume it in a smoothie bowl or even a shake.
