Colon broom is both good and bad, depending on what you're buying it for. If you're buying it for long term weight loss, then there are much better options, however, if you're looking to buy colon broom for a cleanse and for short term weight loss then it's great. When we say short term weight loss, we mean dropping a couple of pounds and a bit of bloat, this is of course not sustainable as your bowels only hold so much.
For any long term weight loss Colon Broom is a minor appetite suppressant, but, that's not something all too impressive when we compare it against better weight loss supplements. The dietary fiber supplement is slightly filling, and it's a decent prebiotic meaning that it's decent for gut health, but it's functionally like taking a worse version of glucomannan. Meaning you'd be better off with something like Instant Knockout, which has the fiber in a powdered form which swells in your stomach, and a host of other energy boosting ingredients and appetite suppressants that are more effective.
As for it's cleansing effect, that's where it shines, and unfortunately a lot of Colon Broom reviews don't really make the distinction that they should here. It does definitely relieve constipation, psyllium husk powder is the star ingredient and is often used to treat both constipation and diarrhea. It's a pretty big dosage in each serving of Colon Broom, so even this one ingredient alone would make it effective. The added Fiber supplement is really what results in colon broom being slightly more effective than a simple psyllium supplement.
There is also the fact that Colon Broom actually tastes pretty good, unlike a lot of the competitor brands which tend to taste as you'd expect from a digestive health drink.
Colon Broom is a natural colon cleanser, it relies heavily on psyllium husk powder to increase regularity and can effective treat both constipation, diarrhea and bloating. It's a pretty good option to improve gut health overall, although we'd have liked to have seen some added probiotics as well as the prebiotics included in colon broom. You could theoretically improve it's overall performance if you combined it with a good probiotic supplement as well.
Customers colon broom reviews are generally positive, there isn't much in the way of negative Colon Broom reviews, there are some, but the majority of these are middling. Most of the negative reviews of Colon Broom seems to have been people who were looking at it as more of a weight loss product than as a gut health and digestive aid.
There does also seem to have been some fake Colon Broom on Amazon, which has also led to some negative reviews that weren't fair. As a constipation aid, Colon Broom reviews were good.
Colon broom isn't a scam, it does work as a detox or cleanse type product in that it should have a laxative effect. That said, it's weight loss claims are overblown.
Psyllium husk powder - Psyllium husk is used to aid with having regular bowel movements, typically it's dosed at over 2grams per serving (which lines up with Colon Broom having 3.6 grams per serving). This is fine and a good backbone for any cleanse ingredient. As for weight loss, it is somewhat fiilling in the short term, so it will work as a mild appetite suppressant as will fiber, however, for this to be effective you'll need to make sure to drink it before having a meal as drinking something fibrous and filling before a meal makes you less likely to overeat, which in turn could help you lose weight, but it's still not as good an option as a glucomannan based supplement (which is also a prebiotic and beneficial for gut health).
Fiber supplement - This adds to the effect of Colon Broom, fiber is essential for a healthy digestive system and adding in a few grams does help clean your digestive tract. It's not as important as the psyllium husk, but it's a positive note in our colon broom review.
Stevia leaf extract - Can add to the diarrheic effect, although it is largely included to make it taste sweet rather than to make colon broom work. It does also have some tangental, albeit minimal benefits for regulating blood sugar, but this isn't much to back up the weight loss claims.
Crystallized Lemon - In theory this should help the digestive system work better, but the evidence that this will actually achieve anything is lacking, not a bad inclusion in Colon Broom, but doesn't really mean much either.
Sea Salt - Salt is actually pretty important for your bowel movements, the body uses it in it's detoxification processes, that's everything from your bowel movements to when you sweat. Of course too much salt is a bad thing, but if you're taking a laxative like colon broom adding some extra salt back into your diet to replace what's being lost in bowel movements isn't a bad thing. So another solid inclusion for Colon Broom.
That's about all there is to Colon Broom, it's a relatively simple supplement and a lot of what you're paying for is the fact that Colon Broom tastes decent. That's about all there is to Colon Broom, it's a relatively simple supplement and a lot of what you're paying for is the fact that Colon Broom tastes decent.
Colon Broom should be safe, there is no evidence that taking fiber supplements even daily should cause any Colon Broom side effects. The only realistic issue is that if you're particularly sensitive to it, Colon Broom could cause mild nausea.
Colon Broom isn't really going to do much to help you lose weight for the long term, the dietary supplements are pretty good for helping with irregular bowel movements, and for helping you drop a couple of pounds quickly and dealing with bloating. That however is really where the health benefits end.
There's no doubt as to whether psyllium husk powder is effective for bowel issues, but the dietary supplement is not particularly good for long term weight loss and using colon broom isn't really the best option for this despite any colon broom claims. If you're looking for a weight loss aid, you're better off checkout a weight loss supplement designed to assist a diet rather than empty your digestive system.
