Lipozene: A Generic Supplement Dressed Up As A Branded Blend

Lipozene is an interesting product to review, the main and pretty much only active ingredient in lipozene is glucomannan fiber, and we like glucomannan as a weight loss supplement, it works. The catch however is that Lipozene is pretty much just a branded glucomannan pill, with the price tag of a fully supported fat burner.

And at $30 a bottle it really doesn't stack up to it's competition. If we compare it to the likes of hourglass fit, which is only $10 more and has 30% more glucomannan and a host of other appetite suppressant ingredients like 5HTP (which is as effective if not more effective than glucomannan at suppressing cravings), vitamin blends, as well as capsimax and bioperine then it doesn't really seem like a very good deal.

If the question is simply does lipozene work then the answer is, it works as well as taking 1500mg of glucomannan does, which is reasonably so, although even this isn't the ideal dosage which has been studied to be 2000mg for most people. 

In short, lipozene is ok, it's just a rip off and there are far better glucomannan based weight loss supplements like hourglass fit available .

Lipozene reviews are really mixed balancing out at about 3.5* when we removed the fake ones. This wasn't actually too surprising. The problem with the dosage of glucomannan in lipozene is that it's a bit to low for anyone who weighs over 160lbs. As such it probably wouldn't have much of a notable effect. And some of the customers were undertaking intermittent fasting, to which glucomannan is not nearly strong enough to remove hunger entirely.In short there's plenty of people who claim lipozene helped them lose weight, and plenty of people who said it wasn't effective. We expect that it was probably effective for people close to their goal weights who were simply looking to reduce body weight by a couple of pounds rather than those looking to make a substantial difference.

How Does Lipozene Work?

Lipozene works by swelling up in the stomach. It's pretty straight forward. Glucomannan swells to about 50X the size in the stomach, so 2 capsules is around the size of a large cream cheese bagel. This makes them really good to take about 20 mins before eating.

Is Lipozene FDA Approved?

Lipozene is not specifically FDA approved, but it's ingredients are all marked as safe therefore it is not directly required to be.

What's In Lipozene?

It's basically just glucomannan fiber, there isn't really much else to say, so perhaps we should simply talk about why glucomannan is a good weight loss aid. As we've already mentioned glucomannan swells up in the stomach, making you feel less hungry, [1] there's plenty of studies and lipozene reviews to back this up. So what else can it do? 

Glucomannan is particularly effective at feeding healthy bacteria in the gut, this is known as being a "prebiotic" [2]Lipozene can also effectively treat constipation as the main ingredient has been shown to be effective for this in dosages of as little as 1g/day [3].

In terms of what Lipozene is missing that's a much longer list. Typically the best fat burners tend to contain 5htp which is proven to help fight cravings and reduce appetite. Commonly we see caffeine which raises metabolism, helps fight hunger and keeps energy levels high when dieting. But, not all fat burners include caffeine due to individual sensitivities. Then we have capsimax and b vitamin blends which raise metabolism and keep energy levels high. These are just a couple of ingredients that we like to see in diet pills.

Lipozene Review Conclusion

Lipozene is ok, in so far as that glucomannan is an effective weight loss supplement. It just shouldn't be a branded supplement at its price point. 

There's a fair amount of customers lipozene reviews that were happy with the results, but we can't help but think there'd be more if the dosage was better and it contained 5htp or any of the other ingredients in better weight loss supplements and fat burners like hourglass fit.

Lipozene are nowhere near the worst weight loss pills that we've reviewed, but they are quite clearly not the best either. Overall we'd recommend that you pick something else from our best fat burners list that suits your needs, but will be more effective.
